ABOUT IT
Project that separates solid waste (organic material and class II biological sludge) from a dyeing company and redirects it for reuse.
The company installed a flotation unit with a capacity of 150 m3/h at the outlet of the WWTP decanter, located in Sete Lagoas/Minas Gerais. The effluent from the aeration tanks of the existing biological treatment plant is directed to the decanter, after which a flotator was installed to flocculate the sludge using the microbubble process, aided by the addition of coagulants and flocculants.
In this way, the existing solids in the effluent are separated and then these solids are scraped and redirected to the centrifuge, where after this stage it will be reused in composting (class 2A biological sludge). Hence, the effluent is polished so that it can be reused within the factory.
Results and Objectives
1- Reduction of residual COD;
2- Reduction of suspended and settleable solids;
3- Reduction of turbidity and color;
4- Approach the goal of 100% total reuse of effluent;
5- Reduction in water abstraction from artesian wells;
6- Contribution to the conservation of the region's groundwater;
7- Reducing/eliminating the discharge of effluents into the Diogo stream in Sete Lagoas
