Brasil Pelo Meio Ambiente

ABOUT IT

The company Isobloco develops sustainable concrete from the reuse of iron ore and rock waste. The company's main product, Nano Cellular Concrete (Isobloco Ecomining), takes advantage of mining waste that would otherwise be wasted and adds properties that allow for greater fire safety and acoustic and thermal insulation, as well as allowing for a reduction of up to 30% in total construction costs - and is even suitable for Social Housing (HIS) due to its low cost.

The production and application of concrete does not emit CO2 and the company is able to reduce up to 50% of the waste normally generated on conventional construction sites. In addition, the material is 100% reusable on site by producing lean concrete with the waste resulting from losses. In addition to sustainable concrete, Isobloco transforms mining waste into other essential products for the construction industry.

Results and Objectives

One of the company's main concerns is reducing pollution from conventional construction. To date, Isobloco estimates that around 350,000 tons of iron mining sand have been diverted from the environment and used in the production of Isobloco Ecomining.

Through the project, the company is promoting circular economy, reducing CO2 emissions released into the environment and guaranteeing financial viability and better cost efficiency for construction projects.
