Friend of the Forest
ABOUT IT
Friend of the Forest is a program that plants native Atlantic Forest trees in deforested areas of the Cantareira System, one of the world's main water sources. In this way, the banks of rivers and springs (riparian forests) of the Cantareira System are restored - currently, 70% of them are degraded.
The forest restoration actions under the Friend of the Forest Program are the result of a partnership between Green Initiative and the Mantiqueira Conservation Plan.
Results and Objectives
Marsh McLennan contributed to forest restoration projects in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The planting areas are in the Serra da Mantiqueira region, in the Atlantic Forest biome.
