ABOUT IT
The Decarbonization Program seeks to reduce the environmental impact of the Tauá Group's operations by promoting actions to offset and reduce GHG emissions in a joint effort with employees, suppliers, partners and guests.
The Program has implemented the CO2 Calculator - an automated tool that allows customers to quickly and interactively estimate the amount of GHG emissions that occurred during their stay in hotels. The result of the calculator is sent by e-mail to guests (after their stay), with access to their CO2 emissions and the related amount to offset them. Any emissions that are not neutralized by customers are offset by the Tauá Group. In addition, the Group has drawn up a Mitigation Plan with a detailed study showing the possibilities for reducing/mitigating Tauá's GHG emissions.
Results and Objectives
The Group accounts for emissions based on an inventory prepared following the guidelines of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program and, with the purpose of neutralizing its carbon emissions, it accounted for 6,841.21 tons of CO2 related to 2021 and 7,976.42 tons of CO2 related to 2022.
In addition, it has offset 10% of the CO2 emissions related to 2021, 15% of the CO2 emissions related to 2022 and 100% of the emissions for 2023.
