Brasil Pelo Meio Ambiente

ABOUT IT

The company's project aims to systematically replace metal vapor lamps with Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamps throughout the airport site. The action began in 2015 and is due to be completed by 2024, with a total of approximately 30,000 bulbs being replaced. The replaced metal vapor lamps are disposed of in a mercury decontamination and recovery process, as they are hazardous waste. The LED lamps, on the other hand, are sent as electronic waste for recycling and reuse, in accordance with Viracopos International Airport's Solid Waste Management Plan (PGRS).
