Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

The project will seek to reduce the generation of plastic waste by its delivery operations and packaging and increase the amount of recycling of the amount that continues to be generated, reducing the environmental impact of delivery.

ifood is concentrating its efforts on reducing the amount of plastic waste, especially that associated with the packaging used, looking for alternatives that make it possible to maintain or improve the perception of quality. Part of this effort is to make the price of alternative packaging more advantageous to partner establishments than packaging that produces plastic waste.

In parallel, we will seek to raise national levels of waste compensation and recycling of the waste that continues to be generated.

Results and Objectives

By 2025, the main expected result is to reduce the percentage of plastic present in deliveries by 50% and recycle the rest, which is estimated at 18,000 tons.

By 2025, we have also committed to recycling or offsetting 18,000 tons of plastic waste intended for use in delivery, which has continued to be generated.

So far, 5,100 tons of solid waste have been recycled.
