eureciclo and RedeTransforma: changing the lives of waste pickers
ABOUT IT
The project Transforma Network aims to exist as a form of social work that values and qualifies waste pickers. Developed by Rede Zona Sul and supported by EurecicloThe project is a partner in the expansion and valorization of waste pickers, increasing the volume of material sold, promoting social inclusion, education and possibilities for inclusion in the formal labor market.
Results and Objectives
They are currently 94 individual waste pickers join the programand the financial amount relating to the marketing of the mass of 1,593 tons collectedand processed from the start of the program.
Another relevant fact is that RedeTransforma provides a gain of + 200% in average monthly income compared to when the waste picker started the eureciclo program.
