Brazil for the Environment

More than a movement, this is a business
pledge in favor of sustainability

2021Amcham developed the #BPMA initiative to share best business practices on environmental preservation in Brazil. Throughout the year, 125 projects from 74 companies were gathered, involving investments of approximately R$12 billion. The initiative was well received by Amcham members and was used to support advocacy efforts with representatives of the Brazilian and US governments on the subject.

2022Amcham held the second edition of #BPMA, aiming to expand the scope of environmental advocacy actions. The second edition of #BPMA brought together success stories developed by the Brazilian private sector, seeking increasingly ambitious results.

2023Amcham took its environmental initiatives to COP 28 in Dubai, holding a panel with companies to present BPMA case studies, and the platform was made available in the Brazilian Pavilion in the Blue Zone.

2024At COP29 in Baku, Amcham Brazil once again held a panel to present the overall results of the BPMA and case studies from companies, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) and the Ministry of Finance.

In 2025, with COP30 taking place in Brazil, business implementation initiatives will gain even more prominence on the national and international stage..
This edition of BPMA will be a unique opportunity to highlight the role of the Brazilian private sector in implementing climate commitments.
