Solar Power at the Curitiba Branch

Atlas Schindler

COMPROMISSO

With the goal of using renewable energy in all branches spread throughout Brazilian territory, Atlas Schindler started intense research thatôallowed it to identify that the installation of solar panels would require little maintenance on the plates, and that the amount of power generated would be compatible with the amount bought from the local utility company. As such, solar power was defined as the most viable clean energy option for deployment in plants across the country.

The company's branch in Curitiba was chosen as the location for the Pilot Project, enabling the company to closely monitor the results and scale the feasibility of this project up to all other branches. Thus, in 2021, the implementation of solar panels on our roofs was started and completed. A small supply base was also built to enable the daily monitoring of the results of the project.

After the pilot program, feasibility was found not only in the environmental aspect, but also in economic terms, and the plan is to install solar panels in five more plants. The installation of solar panels at the Goiânia branch has already been approved.ânia.

The implementation of the project has been completed and the project will be maintained.

The calculations of the project metrics were made using the internal energy management system, based on the Science Based Targets (SBT)and using the calculation tool of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol)

Results and Objectives

One year into the project

67.62 tons of CO² into the atmosphere were avoided

With the adoption of solar panels, the reduction in GHG emissions corresponds, in one year, to the planting of 185 trees.ões de GEEs, com a adoção das placas solares, são correspondentes, em um ano, ao plantio de 185 árvores.

In one year, we managed to save around BRL 58,000.00.
