ABOUT IT
The project's CPFL Soluções Equipment Refurbishing Company It is a central element of waste management for the CPFL Group and... ESG Plan 2030, based on the principles of circular economy: elimination of waste and pollutants, extension of the life cycle of products and materials, and reduction of emissions.
The unit operates in Repair of transformers, reclosers and voltage regulators, returning equipment to the electrical system and ensuring that 100% of the main network components whether they are destined for recycling or reverse logistics systems.
Results and Objectives
Objectives:
Environmental:
Reducing environmental impacts with the recovery and reuse of electrical equipment.
Avoid CO₂ emissions associated with the production of new equipment (approximately 21,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent avoided in 2024).
To promote circular economy, reusing valuable materials such as copper, aluminum and oils.
Properly dispose of materials that cannot be reused for certified recycling companies.
Operational and Economic:
Extend the lifespan of equipment, with an average of 20 years by transformer or regulator.
Reducing the need to purchase new materials (cheaper 80% copper), saving approximately R$ 3 million/year.
Recover 70,000 electrical network equipment until 2030.
Reusing poles, crossarms, cables, and insulators, transforming them into gravel, sand, and products for civil construction.
Results Achieved (up to 2024):
9,876 pieces of equipment refurbished in 2024.
Reuse of approximately 1,000 tons/year of metallic and plastic waste.
Avoidance of 21 thousand tons of CO₂ equivalent. due to the reuse of transformers.
Consolidated integration of Reverse logistics and circular economy in CPFL's value chain.
