Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

The project's Brazil Viracopos Airports, due to the implementation of NBR ISO 14001 certification in 2024 and the search for Integrated certification NBR ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 In 2025, it established environmental goals aligned with the institutional objective of adherence to the environmental management model, focusing on pollution prevention and in conscious consumption.

To the environmental goals of Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos (ABV) They are as follows:

1. Reduction of 30 tons of CO₂ by the end of 2025

  • Current indicator (1st half of 2025): 15.58 tCO₂.

  • Between 2015 and 2024, 25,360 conventional lamps were replaced with 13,510 LED lamps in different areas of the airport site, resulting in an approximate reduction of 500 tCO₂ and 661 T³/t of energy savings in lighting.

  • For the second half of 2025, the installation of 1,552 LED lamps is planned, with an expected savings of approximately 30 tCO₂ and a reduction of 591 tP/3T in energy consumption for lighting.

2. Reduction of at least 5% in the kgCO₂e/WLU emissions indicator (scopes 1 and 2) compared to 2024

  • Target for 2024: 0.224 kgCO₂e/WLU. Current indicator (first half of 2025): 0.30 kgCO₂e/WLU.

  • The actions include replacing conventional light bulbs with LEDs and awareness programs about the conscious consumption of electricity.

3. Achieve a minimum of 80% of recycled mixed waste in the annual cumulative total.

  • Current indicator (1st half of 2025): 81.14%.

  • The actions include environmental education events and training on solid waste management, replacement of trash cans, and installation of notices about the correct disposal of waste.

4. Achieve a minimum of 85% of recovered waste in the accumulated annual total.

  • Current indicator (1st half of 2025): 86.29%.

  • The actions include environmental education events and training on solid waste management, replacement of trash cans, and installation of notices about the correct disposal of waste.

5. Reduce water consumption in the T1 complex by at least 5% compared to 2024.

  • Target for 2024: 13.29 liters/passenger. Current indicator (first half of 2025): 11.54 liters/passenger.

  • The consumption of the concessionaires and the five-year maintenance of the hydrant and sprinkler system scheduled for 2025 were excluded from the calculation.

  • The actions include studies for the construction of a new deep water intake well for cooling towers, acquisition of pulsed output water meters and flow meters for telemetry, installation of stickers on conscious water consumption, and environmental awareness and education programs.

Results and Objectives

The main ones solid waste generated in the production process The Company's services include:

  • CommonOrganic material, metal, paper and cardboard, plastic, glass, and contaminants.

  • SpecialsInfectious waste (Group A), scrap metal, rubble, sprays, batteries, aluminum, dry cells, tires, plant waste, light bulbs, wood, electronics, waste from grease trap cleaning, and pumping station effluents.

The target related to water consumption has been reduced, to date, by approximately 5% of consumption recorded in 2024, which was from 13.29 liters of water per passenger.
