ABOUT IT
Starting in March 2024, the entire fleet of light vehicles with flex-fuel engines will be fueled exclusively with ethanol, replacing gasoline. This decision is part of Sesc's strategies in Minas Gerais aimed at reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and is based on the results of the annual GHG emissions inventory conducted by the Institution.
Ethanol was chosen for its lower environmental impact and energy efficiency. With the transition to this fuel, Sesc reduced its fuel consumption by approximately 17% and achieved a significant decrease, close to 90%, in CO2 emissions. Furthermore, 96% of Sesc employees in Minas Gerais joined the program, exceeding the initial target of 80%.
