Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

O H2 Minas Gerais It is a structuring project that integrates the energy transition with food security in Brazil. Located in the Uberaba Export Processing Zone, the project will produce green nitrogen fertilizers, such as green ammonia, and green methanol from low-carbon hydrogen.

The plant will feature 100% renewable energy supplied by CEMIG, guaranteeing scalable and competitive supply, allowing cost parity with grey hydrogen (€2.5/kg). The project contributes to the reducing dependence on imports, given that Brazil currently imports approximately 85% of the nitrogen fertilizers it consumes.

The initiative strengthens resilience of the Brazilian agricultural sector, protecting it against geopolitical and exchange rate shocks, and the volatility of global prices.
