ABOUT IT
O TEvap Project It is an initiative of Mosaic Fertilizers, in partnership with Cerrado Vivo Association and the CIMCOP, aimed at implementation of ecological basic sanitation systems in rural communities of Catalão and Ouvidor (GO).
The project replaces rudimentary pits put Evapotranspiration Tanks (EVATs), one sustainable social technology which uses natural processes of decomposition and evapotranspiration to treat domestic wastewater — No need for electricity, chemicals, or complex maintenance..
They were built 9 units between June 2024 and April 2025, with strong community engagement, technical training and active participation of local residents.
The action promotes improvement of sanitary and public health conditions, protection of water resources e strengthening social inclusion, representing a replicable model of sustainable rural sanitation.

Objectives
Replace rudimentary septic tanks through ecological wastewater treatment systems (WWTPs);
Reduce soil and water pollution. in rural communities;
Promoting public health and quality of life., through proper sanitation;
Empowering local communities for self-management and maintenance of systems;
Contribute to SDGs 6, 3, 11 and 13, reinforcing Mosaic's commitment to sustainable development.
Results (so far)
9 TEVAP units built, replacing rudimentary septic tanks;
Significant reduction in the risk of contamination. of the soil and water in areas with 92% rustic septic tanks;
Direct engagement of over 40 residents in community-based construction projects and practical training;
Improvement of sanitary conditions e protection of local water resources;
Low environmental impact technology, without the use of electricity or chemicals;
Strengthening social capital and community autonomy.
