ABOUT IT
O "Oil & Life Project – Sister Dulce Initiative"“, developed by Binatural, its purpose is to promote environmental education, social engagement and the circular economy through used cooking oil collection.
The action takes place in the municipality of Simões Filho (BA) and involves approximately 1,200 high school and vocational school students, encouraging sustainable practices and raising awareness about the proper disposal of waste.
The initiative uses a gamification format, in which students participate in trios and accumulate Points are awarded based on the volume of oil delivered.. The collected material is sent to the Binatural biodiesel production plant, where it is converted into renewable biofuel, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the replacement of fossil diesel.
In addition to the environmental benefits, the project promotes youth protagonism, stimulates the sense of citizenship and brings closer school community of the practices of Energy transition and sustainability.
Results and Objectives
The project's main objectives are:
Engaging young students in environmental education initiatives and sustainable practices;
Encourage proper disposal. from used cooking oil, preventing contamination of soil and waterways;
Promote biodiesel production. from the collected oil, generating clean energy originating from biomass;
To contribute to the replacement of fossil fuels., reducing emissions and environmental impacts;
Promoting the circular economy, reintegrating waste into sustainable production chains;
Strengthening partnerships between schools, communities, and businesses., expanding the reach of positive environmental practices;
Raising social and environmental awareness and the leading role of young people in the transition to a more sustainable energy matrix.

Direct involvement of 1,200 students of secondary and technical education in Simões Filho (BA);
Significant collection of waste oil, with Minimum of 1 liter per delivery. per participant;
Transforming collected oil into biodiesel., directing the waste to a production process of clean and renewable energy;
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, through the replacement of fossil diesel;
Strengthening environmental education in schools and encouragement to circularity of materials;
Execution timeframe: challenge of 30 days, followed by Reporting and closing phase with recognition of the participating teams..
