ABOUT IT

The project aims implement an integrated management model for sustainability and positive impact involving all sectors of Cidade Center Norte (Shopping Center Norte, Lar Center and Expo Center Norte). The initiative integrates practices of circular economy, ethical governance, community engagement and environmental efficiency, focusing on Waste reduction, energy efficiency, recycling, carbon neutrality and direct social benefits. for the North Zone region of São Paulo.

Results and Objectives

Objectives:

  • Reduce and manage solid waste. through recycling, composting and reuse.

  • Implement circular economy practices, transforming waste into resources for the community.

  • Engaging employees, retailers, event organizers, and customers. in socio-environmental awareness campaigns.

  • Strengthen ethical and transparent governance., with socio-environmental goals linked to leadership.

  • Contribute to local development, professional training and income generation in the surrounding community.

  • Integrate sustainability objectives in the company's strategic planning.

Results achieved:

  • B System Certification obtained in April 2024.

  • 665 tons of recyclable materials processed and converted into social revenue.

  • 21 tons of organic waste transformed into compost in the Community Garden.

  • More than 13,000 recycled cigarette butts, avoiding contamination of 6,000 liters of water.

  • 100% of electricity from renewable sources.

  • Approximately 5,000 tons of CO₂ avoided over the last three years.

  • Direct benefit of more than 10,000 people in the local community.

  • Conquest of Great Place to Work (GPTW) certification and adherence to UN Global Compact.

  • Neutralization of 100% of current emissions (scopes 1, 2 and 3) in 2025 through the purchase of carbon credits.

Expected results:

  • Reduce by 20% absolute greenhouse gas emissions up to 2030, maintaining neutrality of residual emissions.

  • To continue reusing waste and generating positive social and environmental impact.

Term: Ongoing targets; carbon neutrality by 2025 and a 20% reduction in emissions by 2030.
