ABOUT IT
The project consists of Removal and modernization of electrical networks in protected areas. in the concessions of CPFL Paulista, CPFL Piratininga and CPFL Santa Cruz, focusing on Conservation Units and Indigenous Lands in the state of São Paulo.
The goal is To reduce operational risks, protect biodiversity, promote the natural regeneration of vegetation, and modernize electrical infrastructure in environmentally sensitive regions..
The actions are divided into two phases:
2020–2024: Actions already taken, including network removal and modernization.
2024–2026: Implementation of action plans in newly selected areas, with completion scheduled for December 2026.
Results and Objectives
Objectives:
Environmental:
To reduce risks in sensitive regions and protect native and endangered species.
Promote regeneration of native vegetation within the easement strips.
Form ecological corridors connecting forest fragments.
Contribute to carbon capture (estimate: 345 tCO₂/year in the Atlantic Forest and 207 tCO₂/year in the Cerrado).
Operational:
Increase the reliability and safety of the electrical grid.
Reduce power outages and emergency shutdowns.
Modernizing the electrical infrastructure with Safer and more durable technologies.
Social and Institutional:
Strengthen the relationship with local communities, municipalities and environmental agencies.
To promote culture of fire prevention and environmental conservation.
Protect the life and heritage of rural and traditional populations close to areas of native vegetation.
Results Achieved (up to 2024):
23 km of nets removed e 21 km modernized within the concession area of CPFL Paulista.
34.5 hectares of preserved protected areas in the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes.
Training ecological corridors and the beginning of the natural regeneration of vegetation.
Reducing operational risks for technical teams and communities.
Expected Results (2024–2026):
Continuation of actions in new Conservation Units and Indigenous Lands.
Consolidation of environmental results and integration into CPFL Group's ESG 2030 Plan.
Continuous monitoring and expansion into new protected areas as needed.
