The initiative began with the study of a sulfur sludge accumulated in the company's unit in Cajati (SP), which occupied an area of approximately 1 hectare. Initially, the material would be encapsulated as an environmental control measure, which would require high costs and would not generate added value.
Nonetheless, technical and chemical analyses They revealed that the sludge presented significant potential for reuse as raw material for the sector of agricultural fertilizers, due to its properties of soil correction and enrichment, especially in regions with low natural fertility.
Based on this study, Approximately 34,000 tons of the material were disposed of in a safe and controlled manner. for agricultural use, Replacing waste with productive inputs e generating revenue for the company. Furthermore, the area previously occupied by the warehouse was recovered and restored environmentally, strengthening Mosaic's commitment to preservation of biomes and efficient use of resources.

Replace the encapsulation destination. by a solution of economic and environmental value;

Recover and restore the affected area., promoting ecological and forestry rehabilitation;
Contribute to SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) e SDG 15 (Life on Land).
