ABOUT IT
The project Reuse of Process Water as a Strategy for Reducing Consumption and Increasing Efficiency in Phosphoric Acid Production (98% Recirculation) is a strategic initiative of Mosaic Fertilizantes aimed at water efficiency, sustainability and optimization of natural resources.
During the phosphoric acid production, Water is a fundamental input in various stages of the industrial process. Focusing on reducing the consumption of potable water and maximizing internal reuse., the company implemented a robust water recirculation strategy, reaching a recycling rate of 96% (with a target of 98%) within the industrial complex.
This practice represents a significant progress in water and environmental management, allowing greater productivity with less impact on natural resources., and reinforcing Mosaic's commitment to the principles of circular economy and from responsible production.
Results and Objectives
Reduce consumption of drinking water. and the reliance on water from natural sources;
Increase water and operational efficiency. through the recirculation of process water;
Minimize the volume of liquid effluents. and the impacts on bodies of water;
Reduce operating costs associated with the treatment and disposal of wastewater;
Integrate circular economy practices to the industrial routine;
Contribute to SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) e SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
96% process water recirculation system, with target of reaching 98% throughout the entire industrial plant;
Significant reduction in the intake of potable water., preserving local water sources and resources;
Reduction in the volume of liquid effluents. and the need for treatment;
Improved process control and operational stability.;
Cost reduction and increased production efficiency.;
Direct contribution to water sustainability and for the strengthening of internal circular economy;
Project developed entirely with internal resources., without the need for additional investments.
