Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

The project promotes the use of Discarded Foundry Sand (ADF) as an alternative input in infrastructure projects, replacing natural aggregates from industrial waste previously characterized and technically validated.

O Aeropark Vale Europeu has environmental authorization to use up to 2 million tons of ADF, of which 200,000 tons have already been applied. since 2022. This practice:

  • It reduces the extraction of natural resources;

  • It reduces CO₂ emissions associated with conventional transportation and mining;

  • It prevents the disposal of industrial waste in landfills;

  • It strengthens the circular economy by reintegrating waste into the production cycle.

Results and Objectives

Objectives

  • Replace until 2 million tons of natural aggregates by ADF in the Aeropark Vale Europa works;

  • To value industrial waste as productive inputs;

  • Reduce the carbon footprint of the construction industry;

  • To consolidate the circular economy model in the infrastructure sector;

  • Possible extension of the project until 2030, guaranteeing the full application of authorized ADF.

Completion deadline: Originally 2026; expansion planned through the extension of environmental permits.
