Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

O VROOM Project represents Strategic transfer of the Vedacit factory from São Paulo to Itatiba (SP), culminating in the construction of largest and most modern waterproofing plant in Latin America.

The project was conceived under rigorous international standards of sustainability and industrial innovation, resulting in... LEED Gold and LEED Platinum certifications, granted by US Green Building Council (USGBC) — the world's leading system for evaluating sustainable buildings.

The new plant incorporates technologies from Industry 4.0, promotes energy efficiency, water reuse, intelligent waste management e use of packaging with a lower environmental impact. In addition to doubling production capacity by 2.4 times, the project provides reduction of operational costs and carbon emissions, consolidating Vedacit's commitment to Innovation, sustainability, and low carbon..

Results and Objectives

Project Objectives

• To implement a modern and sustainable industrial unit, in accordance with the highest international standards (LEED Gold and Platinum).
• Reduce environmental impact through energy efficiency, efficient water management e optimizing the use of natural resources.
• Promote productive eco-efficiency and the adoption of clean technologies, aligned with Industry 4.0.
• Implement solutions for sustainable packaging, reducing the use of plastics and prioritizing recycled or compostable materials.
• To replace restricted chemical inputs for environmentally safe alternatives.
• Strengthen the culture of sustainability and innovation in Vedacit's production chain.

Results and Impacts

Environmental and Structural Certifications:
LEED Gold – granted to the restaurant building.
LEED Platinum – granted to the Distribution Center, Clinic and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment).

Environmental:
Energy Efficiency:

  • Significant reduction in energy consumption with natural lighting systems, cross ventilation and thermal insulation.

  • High-performance equipment with a lower energy impact.

  • Estimate of 420 tCO₂e avoided per year.

Water Management:

  • System water reuse e sanitary wastewater treatment plant (to be completed by 2025).

  • Targets for reuse and control of industrial waste.

Waste and Packaging Management:

  • Implementation of packaging with 50% less plastic (3.6L packs).

  • Development of compostable packaging for water-based products.

  • Use of buckets with recycled content (PCR) e Flexible stand-up pouch films, reducing environmental footprint.

Chemical Substitution:

  • Adoption of less aggressive inputs, in accordance with European regulations. REACH.

  • Partnership with Oswaldo Cruz Chemistry to develop acrylic resins with a lower environmental impact.

Operational and Economic:
• Expansion of 2.4 times the production capacity, with greater automation and process efficiency.
• Reduction of operational costs and increased productivity.
