The company has a Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) Detailed and systematic, strategically developed to ensure traceability, standardization, and control over disposal methods. The plan is integrated into the platform. SoftExpert, which acts as a tool for continuous management and monitoring.

Among the pillars that guide the initiative are:

  2. Reuse and recycling of materials, prioritizing the return of scraps and packaging to the production cycle;

  5. Innovation and sustainable development, with the encouragement of new recyclable materials and packaging;

  6. Contribution to global sustainability goals, reinforcing the company's alignment with international environmental agendas.

Results and Objectives

Objectives

  • Eliminate the sending of non-hazardous waste to landfills by 2030.;

  • Maximize the reuse and recycling of industrial waste.;

Results

Irani's waste management has shown significant progress in recent years, as a result of... investments in innovation, processes and strategic partnerships.

Main results (2024):

  • Recycling of paper and cardboard scraps: more than 247 thousand tons;

  • Total waste generation: about 230 thousand tons;

  • Waste sent to landfills: just 4% of the total generated (reduction of 58% in ten years);

  • Reused or recycled waste: 222,610.40 tons, reintegrated into new production chains;

  • Revenue from the sale of waste: R$ 3 million, an increase of 400% compared to 2014;

  • Total investment: R$ 5,158,809.49;

  • Partnerships with over 20 organizations Waste management and disposal.

Among the implemented practices, the following stand out:

  • Charcoal reburning (coarse ash) for power generation;

  • Caustic soda recovery in the wood cooking process;

  • Utilization of lime sludge as an agricultural corrective, registered with MAPA;

  • Use of wood bark as an energy source;

  • Plastic Recycling Plant, which separates paper fibers from plastic films, destined for the production of plastic wood;

  • Broto do Galho Project, of Crafts made from recycled materials, promoting income and social inclusion.
