O Water Reuse Project in a Magnetite Waste Pile It is an initiative of Mosaic Fertilizers aimed at Optimizing the use of water resources and reducing the consumption of new water. in the processes of mineral processing.
The company implemented a water clarification and pumping system that operates directly in water recovery from magnetite tailings piles. During the transport of the tailings, a watery pulp, which, when stored in a stack, naturally goes through a dewatering process.
Before the project was implemented, this water was discarded. Now, she is directed towards a clarification system, treated and reused within the industrial process itself.
This solution promotes a annual savings of approximately 876,000 m³ of new water, significantly reducing the natural water resource collection and contributing to the water sustainability and operational efficiency of the unit.
