ABOUT IT
Faber-Castell has developed a program to encourage biodiversity in the company's forest parks located in the cerrado biome. The program includes the following projects: animalis, arboris, acqua and solis, which aim to preserve and establish the native fauna and flora present throughout the 8,224 hectares of forest parks. The projects regularly monitor the variety of plant and animal species and document their distribution and colonization.
The animalis project contributes to the conservation of endangered species such as the maned wolf, macaw, porcupine and white-eared parrot. The arboris project focuses on the conservation of native vegetation in forest parks, using floristic diagnostics, as well as monitoring and identifying the different plant species in the cerrado biome. The acqua project monitors the quality and levels of water in Faber-Castell's forests. The company has developed the solis project, which aims to characterize and map the soil in all the forest parks. From this, the company optimizes the use of the soil, monitoring its evolution over time in order to implement measures that can minimize erosion.
