ABOUT IT
The National Writing Instrument Recycling Program, created by Faber-Castell, aims to ensure the safe and responsible disposal of post-use waste: pens, pencils, markers and mechanical pencils, whether they are Faber Castell writing instruments or any other brand. The project is a partnership created in 2012 between Faber-Castell and Terracycle, a specialist in environmental waste solutions, which allows writing instruments to be given a new life through recycling.
With the aim of eliminating the use of conventional plastic in Faber-Castell products by 2030, the project promotes a more circular economy, focused on the reduction and environmentally correct disposal of this post-consumer waste, consequently contributing to the optimization and reduction of the extraction of virgin raw materials by the industry. The materials and writing accessories collected are destined to other production processes in the industry (open recycling cycle), becoming raw materials for the production of other materials for the civil industry and other sectors.
