Brasil Pelo Meio Ambiente

ABOUT IT

The project is a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) carried out by the NGO Espaço Urbano with support from Tetra Pak and aims to increase the collection of recyclable materials in the cities where it is implemented. Focused on social mobilization and environmental education, the project involves public authorities and the entire community with awareness campaigns. In the first stages, training is given to local recyclable materials cooperatives, city managers and environmental education actions for the population and environments such as schools.

In 2022, the Recycle City project received two awards: it came first in the SDG Brazil 2022 Strategy Award and was also the winner in the "Regional Governance and Intermunicipal Cooperation" category of the SEBRAE Entrepreneurial Mayor (PSPE) Award, represented by the city of Salesópolis. In 2023, Recycle City is underway in the cities of Conisud (Intermunicipal Consortium of the Southwest Region of Greater São Paulo): Itapecerica da Serra, Embu das Artes, Embu-Guaçu, Juquitiba, São Lourenço da Serra, Taboão da Serra, Cotia, Vargem Grande Paulista.
