Reuse of sample transport boxes
ABOUT IT
The aim of the project is to reuse styrofoam boxes and, according to the company, 90% of this material has been reused. The company's goal with the project is reverse logistics, since the boxes have no decomposition period. These reused boxes are then used to transport samples, avoiding the need to dispose of this material and buying new ones. The project is certified by AMBEV, a climate action sustainable partner and a partnership with the company Fenix for the correct disposal of materials such as plastics, paper, styrofoam and glass.
Results and Objectives
- Reduce CO2 emissions
- Search for preservation of forested areas
- Reused 16,000 boxes
- Prevented the emission of 147 tons of CO2 in one year
- Project impact area: approximately 200m2
