Energy Transition Project: Biomass Boiler
ComBio Energia
ABOUT IT
The purpose of the project is to promote the thermal energy transition of an industrial plant of a mining company located in the state of Pará. In order to dry the ore, the company previously used steam (thermal energy) produced by a boiler that burned BPF oil, a highly polluting fuel derived from petroleum. Ever since the ComBio project became operational, the thermal energy consumed by the factory began to be produced through the reuse of açaí seeds, a material that was previously improperly discarded, often being thrown into rivers and causing the silting of river beds.
The project is still being executed
O projeto não possui certificação externa.
Results and Objectives
Since the begining of the project approximately 210 thousand tons of CO2e had their emissions avoided
Since the begining of the project approximately 150 thousand tons of açai seeds disposal were avoided
