Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

The project sought to reuse the water used in the cooling processes of utilities equipment, such as air compressors and cooling towers, at the Itupeva plant, by channeling part of this water to internal consumption points, such as the bathrooms and changing rooms at the manufacturing plant.

This surplus volume of water was previously discharged into the sewage system and/or the rainwater network.

It became possible to reuse between 8 and 10% of this volume of water in urinals, toilets and cleaning toilets and industrial floors, representing a cost saving of around R$ 40,000.00/year.

The project has ISO 14001-2015 certification for the management of consumption and savings metrics.

Results and Objectives

The project will be fully completed by 31/03/2022.

Comparing the average water consumption from 2018 to 2019 and from 2020 to date, it was possible to reuse between 8 and 10% of this volume of water in urinals, toilets and cleaning toilets and industrial floors, representing a cost saving of around R$ 40,000.00/year.

Average water consumption from 2018 to 2019: 495 m³/month

Average water consumption from 2020 to 2022: 405 m³/month
