Bradesco

ABOUT IT

Project that replaced usual energy sources with renewable 100% sources. The project defined four main pillars: Free Market; Distributed Generation; Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and the International REC Standard (I-REC). One of the main milestones was the acquisition of around 1,400,000 I-REC's, enough to guarantee the commitment for the next five years and the contracting of solar power plants for 137 branches in the interior of São Paulo and renewable energy for 32 Bradesco Foundation schools. At the same time, the process of migrating to the Free Market was intensified, expanding solar plants to various locations.

The project carries external certification

Results and Objectives

The replacement of usual energy sources with renewable 100% sources.

Possibility of quantifying emissions linked to energy consumption individually to the choice of acquisition, using the specific emission factor of each source of electricity generation (market-based approach-MB). With the 100% renewable commitment in place, the lowest level of scope 2 emissions was reached, at 23.3 tCO2e (MB).
