Cummins Water Works

Cummins Brasil Ltda.

ABOUT IT

The program aims to combat the scarcity of fresh water around the world and mitigate its consequences for communities around the world, in partnership with the Water Resilience Coalitionis a United Nations-sanctioned working group of water-related non-profit organizations and major global companies focused on analyzing, implementing and managing high-impact water projects in major water-scarce regions around the world.

In Brazil, the focus is on the Piracicaba, Capivari, Jundiaí (PCJ), Alto Tietê and Paraíba do Sul river basins. Deforestation and erosion have increased the severity of floods and droughts, and sewage threatens water security. With the support of TNC (The Nature Conservancy) and a public-private partnership, the São Paulo Water Fund (SPWF) is expanding work to restore upstream lands, recharge water sources and improve rural sanitation.

The project has external certification - Limnotech

Results and Objectives

Target conservation and restoration of 23,310 hectares within 4 years (2021 to 2025).
