ABOUT IT
Guided by the Social and Environmental Responsibility Policy (PRSA) and the Environmental Management System Manual, the project is committed to replacing the energy sources used by Santander, seeking to consume only renewable energy in all buildings and branches by 2025.
To this end, the project has sought to expand the purchase of electricity for consumption by distributed generation projects from renewable sources (wind, solar and Small Hydroelectric Plants) and free market energy contracts from incentivized sources (Hydroelectric Generating Plants and landfill gas treatment).
A dashboard of indicators has been adopted which allows consumption to be managed in real time, centrally (Follow Energy system) and by address. Some of our branches have a remote energy monitoring system, controlled centrally.
The data is audited externally.
The project is underway and will be expanded.
Results and Objectives
In Minas Gerais, all the energy consumed is already supplied by renewable sources.
By the time the 82% project was submitted, Santander's physical operation was already working with 100% of renewable energy
