ABOUT IT
The aim of the project is to contribute to the planting of trees in forest restoration areas.
Forest restoration is designed taking into account the criteria for maximum species diversity established by the São Paulo State Department of the Environment (SMA Resolution No. 32 of April 3, 2014) and respecting the characteristics of the local ecosystem. Native species are always planted, respecting criteria for division by succession class and the specific conditions of the chosen site, with the aim of restoring the area's native vegetation to as close to its original condition as possible. The guidelines and procedures for the forest restoration project are described in the Protocol Carbon Free.
Oliveira Trust also offset greenhouse gas emissions from activities carried out throughout 2020, 2021 and 2022. In the last two years, we have also contributed to forest restoration with the Amigo da Floresta project. The planting areas are in the Serra da Mantiqueira region, in the Atlantic Forest biome, in partnership with the Dispersores Group.
