Packaging - Replacing bubble wrap

The aim of the project was to eliminate the use of bubble wrap in the packaging of products moved from Schneider Eletric's Distribution Center in the city of Cajamar. 

To this end, a new approach was developed using cardboard that would otherwise have been discarded and using a defragmentation process is capable of replacing bubble wrap in the protection ofthe equipment and filling the empty spaces in the packaging. 

The packaging project was carried out in several stages: 

• reusing boxes from suppliers
• new box layout to accommodate the exact amount of products and minimize empty spaces, and 
• purchase of a cardboard defragmenting machine.
