3S Program - Sustainable Procurement Solutions
Cargill
ABOUT IT
The 3S Program, created in 2010, is a sustainability solutions platform that supports farmers in the sustainable transformation of their agricultural production systems.
Producers are supported through analysis of compliance with the main pillars of good agricultural and social practices within the farm, based on a diagnosis, technical support provided by Cargill, as well as individual and personalized action plans for each farm, with a view to identifying opportunities for improvement and development of each system.
The requirements of the 3S Program guarantee alignment with the main demands of consumers, compliance with the Forest Code and zero deforestation in production. The program's reliability is ensured by the third-party audit, conducted annually, based on the 2BSvs certification, in line with the European Union's RED II directive.
Adopting a system of continuous improvement, the 3S Program supports both rural producers who have production systems that are more developed in terms of sustainability and those who require assistance in identifying opportunities for development.
The program results in the certification of agricultural products originating in these systems, enabling producers to add value and increase profitability.
In 2021, the program began to address the construction of more resilient production systems through soil health and fertility, implementing regenerative agriculture requirements and boosting carbon sequestration in the systems.
