Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

The main aim of the project is to prevent the disposal of electronic waste in the environment. The reuse of used electronic devices has numerous environmental, economic and operational benefits for companies. Arklok offers the rental of used equipment, with up to 60% cost savings compared to new equipment.
The reuse of used equipment with a focus on reducing electronic waste brings many benefits such as: extending the useful life of equipment, reducing costs, minimizing electronic waste, flexibility and technological updating and compliance with environmental standards.
The sanitization process for used machines returning to the market follows the flow:
1. Collection of rented equipment from customers after the end of the contract;
2. Receipt and entry into the system;
3. Sanitization of data, in compliance with the General Data Protection Act;
4. Carrying out a review of the equipment, checking the technical performance formalized in checklists with an analysis of all the functionalities;
5. Software update;
6. Quality inspection and testing, to guarantee the previous flows;
7. The equipment is repacked and put back into stock to be rented out again.
In the process, equipment that can no longer be rented out in its entirety or have its parts reused for repairs on other equipment is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way, as is the recyclable waste generated in the process, such as cardboard packaging. In addition, the protective packaging is made from at least 50% of recycled materials.
By renting used equipment and reusing parts from those that are beyond repair, Arklok has encouraged the Circular Economy and sustainability internally and also with our customers.
As this is an ongoing process, there is no deadline.

Results and Objectives

The main objective of the project is to reduce the disposal of electronic waste, so we encourage and advocate the rental of used equipment.
14,061 devices in the last 7 months, or around 22,498 kg, based on the average weight per device of 1.6 kg - the average weight of notebooks, the largest volume.
