ABOUT IT
The project consisted of implementation of a rainwater harvesting system node CEAC – Center for Environmental Education and Citizenship to reduce the consumption of drinking water, intended for:
Toilets in bathrooms;
Irrigation of vegetables and gardens.
The system includes:
Gutters on the roof of the shed to collect rainwater;
Reservoir with capacity of 10,000 L;
Pump for directing accumulated water to bathrooms and irrigation areas.
Before implementation, the average monthly consumption of drinking water was... 16,000 L.
Results and Objectives
Reduce the consumption of drinking water;
Reusing local water resources;
Promoting sustainable practices at CEAC;
To promote environmental education and citizenship.
Reducing drinking water consumption: 62,5%;
The accumulated rainwater began to be used entirely in the toilets and for irrigation;
Direct contribution to the circular economy and efficient use of water resources.
