ABOUT IT

O Arklok Electronic Waste Recycling Project its purpose to ensure the environmentally sound disposal of electrical and electronic equipment — how notebooks, desktops and peripherals — after reusing components that are still in usable condition.

The initiative includes obsolete equipment and involves steps of Separation, decharacterization, and proper final disposal., in accordance with best practices solid waste management e reverse logistics.

Before recycling, the equipment goes through Internal processes for information utilization and security., which include:

  • Complete data sanitization stored;

  • Physical scrapping of the equipment;

  • Removal and reuse of functional parts., intended for use in other semi-new equipment.

This approach contributes to circular economy, preventing the premature disposal of components and reducing the demand for new natural resources.

Results and Objectives

Objectives

The main objective of the project is... properly dispose of obsolete electronic waste, ensuring the maximum reuse of functional components and the recycling of leftover materials.

Among its specific objectives are:

  • To ensure environmentally sound disposal. of electronic waste, in accordance with the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS);

  • To promote the reuse of electronic components. in good condition;

  • Reduce environmental impact associated with the improper disposal of electronic waste;

  • Promoting the circular economy through the reintegration of materials and components into the production cycle;

  • To contribute to the conservation of natural resources. and reducing the extraction of raw materials;

  • To generate socioeconomic benefits., such as job opportunities in sorting and recycling activities.

Results

O Arklok Electronic Waste Recycling Project It has shown impressive results over the last three years, demonstrating the consolidation of its sustainable practices:

YearQuantity of electronic waste disposed of (kg)
202312,476 kg
202436.192 kg
20259.042 kg
Total (last 3 years)57.709 kg (≈ 57.7 tons)

These numbers represent the total volume of electronic waste recycled and properly disposed of, after reusing parts and components that are in good working order.

This initiative contributes to:

  • Reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills.;

  • Minimizing environmental impacts associated with the extraction of metals and components;

  • Stimulating the circular economy and generating green jobs.;

  • Conservation of natural resources and energy in the production cycle.

Because it is a continuous process, the project no completion deadline, being a permanent part of Sustainability practices and electronic waste management from Arklok.
