Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

The project H2X Rio de Janeiro It is located in Porto do Açu (RJ) and consists of a plant of 12 MW to 20 MW for the production of green hydrogen Bottled in liquid form. Production is destined for the local market, with support from the Port of Açu, Prumo, and a large gas company responsible for the complete offtake of the production.

The necessary energy will be supplied by renewable sources, guaranteed by contract with CEMIG, ensuring competitiveness and cost parity with grey hydrogen (€2.5/kg), an essential condition to make green hydrogen and its derivatives viable at prices equivalent to fossil fuels.

Projected production capacity:

  • 1,800 tons/year of green hydrogen

The project seeks strategic partners or investors to fully or partially finance the technical, feasibility, and front-end engineering design (FEED) studies.
