ABOUT IT
Originally founded in 1972, the project aims to educate and encourage people to care about animals. In its early years, the CEE continued to focus on campaigns for individual species, including seals and sea turtles.
Over the years, the company's mission has grown and solidified to make us who we are now: a science-based conservation organization founded on the absolute belief that every individual can make a positive difference for the oceans.
In 2023, the company supported the World Rivers and Beaches Cleanup Day Project in three locations: Galeão and São Bento beaches, Ilha do Governador, Rio de Janeiro state; the Juruá River, in the city of Ipuxuna, Amazonas state; and the Japiim River, in the city of Mancio Lima, Acre state.
Marsh McLennan's support consisted of hiring 2 portable toilets, 1 for women and 1 for men, properly equipped with toilet paper, soap and paper towels for the Rio de Janeiro event, and purchasing 140 pairs of gloves and garbage bags from the company ECOforte.
Results and Objectives
The event's objective is, in addition to removing man-made waste from nature, to raise awareness about a major problem in the modern world: litter in the sea and waterways. The international environmental education program takes place in more than 150 countries around the world.
