Brazil for the Environment

ABOUT IT

The project Recirculation of water from tailings and sludge dams its objective maximize water reuse in the industrial process, promoting water sustainability and circular economy.

Since the establishment of mining in the municipality of Tapira, a water recirculation system which includes tailings and sludge dams. With this, The largest volume of water used in the process comes from recirculation., avoiding the intake of new water in natural water sources and contributing to the preservation of water resources.

Results and Objectives

Objectives

  • Reduce the intake of new water., promoting water sustainability;

  • Maximize water reuse. in the mining process;

  • Minimize environmental impacts associated with the extraction of natural resources;

  • Increase operational efficiency through water recirculation;

  • To contribute to the preservation of forested areas. and maintenance of the biome;

  • Strengthen the integration between production and responsible management of natural resources..

Results

  • Average recirculation of 85% of water used in the process.;

  • Equivalent to approximately 110,000 m³ of reused water per year.;

  • Significant reduction in the intake of new water from natural sources.;

  • Project developed using internal resources., at no additional cost to the company;

  • Enhancing water sustainability and alignment with environmental standards;

  • Example of efficient resource management and circular economy in the mining sector..
