ABOUT IT

The project Restoration of the spring in the center of the city of Tapira it was carried out through Water Notice, conducted by NGO Chain of Good, with the objective of restore and protect the Luiz Barcelos spring, located in city center of Tapira.

The initiative involved planting of native species suitable for riparian buffer zones, in addition to fencing and signage of the surrounding area, guaranteeing physical protection of the spring e environmental restoration of the degraded area.

Results and Objectives

Objectives

  • Restore the spring's APP (Permanent Preservation Area)., preventing the silting and water degradation;

  • To promote the recovery of local wildlife., especially wild birds;

  • Strengthen native vegetation, through the reforestation with suitable species;

  • To guarantee environmental preservation and protection. from the source in the urban context;

  • To contribute to local sustainability and environmental awareness.;

  • Aligning with the guidelines of the Forest Code and water conservation..

Results

  • Complete restoration of the Luiz Barcelos spring's riparian zone.;

  • Return of wildlife, especially birds, to the restored site;

  • Protection of the water source against siltation. and urban decay;

  • Installation of fencing and signage., ensuring the maintenance of the restored area;

  • Project completed in 2021., with environmental and social success;
