ABOUT IT
O Circular Sun is a Cetrel GRI's own methodology, developed for measuring the circularity of waste, to map opportunities and guide strategies aimed at circular economy. The system supports companies and partners in transitioning to sustainable production models, connecting them. waste generators and production chains to transform discarded materials into new inputs and products.
The methodology is based on five stages:
To understand – to train, engage, and inspire mindset changes;
Map – Identify flows and processes;
Measure – to quantify and generate indicators;
Solve – to define priorities and propose solutions;
Circular – Implement and monitor actions.
This approach allows assess the level of circularity of the destination routes, considering retention, recovery and value generation throughout the entire chain.

Objectives and Results
O main objective of the Circular Sun is boosting the circular economy in practice, promoting the reuse, recycling and repurposing of waste and encouraging circular supply chain.
Since its consolidation in 2022, The project achieved significant results:
Diversion of 389,000 tons of waste of sanitary landfills;
Treatment and reuse of 201,000 liters of water.;
Creating circular products, such as eco-friendly bricks produced from industrial sludge, fillers for planks made with isocyanate and polyol waste, and mats and rugs made with paint sludge;
Strengthening the circular economy, generating environmental and social value throughout the production chain.
The initiative contributes to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on responsible production and consumption, efficient resource management e reducing environmental impacts.
