ABOUT IT

The project's Ingredion implemented an energy transition project in its three Brazilian plants, replacing the natural gas from biomass in the production of steam and acquiring 100% of electricity from renewable sources, certified by I-REC.

This initiative is part of the global sustainability strategy. All Life, which seeks to improve the living conditions of employees, customers, suppliers, and communities, with a focus also on reducing environmental impacts. The project is aligned with Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi) and to the goals of Paris Agreement, aiming to reduce GHG emissions.

Results and Objectives

Results

  • Reduction of 46% in CO₂ emissions of scopes 1, 2 and biogenics, compared to 2019

  • 100% of the electrical energy used in Brazilian operations originating from renewable sources in 2024, with I-REC certification.

  • Recognition in sustainability, including EcoVadis Silver Medal (Mogi Guaçu) and Paraná Climate Seal (Balsa Nova)

  • Consolidation of traceability and credibility of energy origin.
