ABOUT IT
Launched in 2021, Cummins Water Works extends Cummins' commitment to environmental sustainability, with a focus on ensuring the availability, sustainable management and consumption of water, to the countries in which it operates. This global strategy by Cummins aims to solve the growing water crisis affecting many parts of the world, with direct negative effects on health, education, gender equality and the growth of entire economies. Brazil is among the priority countries and the program is advancing in the region through strategic partnerships, such as The Nature Conservancy and Water.org, which are contributing to the development of projects with effective impacts in the country. The program plans to impact more than 16 million people in Brazil by 2050.
CWW is part of the company's sustainability strategy, PLANET 2050, which focuses on three priority areas: tackling climate change and atmospheric emissions, using natural resources in the most sustainable way and improving communities. TNC Brazil - The "São Paulo Water Fund" program in partnership with Cummins aims to ensure water security in priority basins that are experiencing severe shortages in the city's metropolitan region. The initiative promotes forest conservation and restoration, best practices in land use and rural sanitation in priority areas in the Piracaia, Capivari, Jundiaí (PCJ), Alto Tietê and Paraíba do Sul basins. The program prioritizes protecting land and water, combating climate change, providing water and food security. One third of the total resources have already been allocated to the "São Paulo Water Fund".
