Since 2006, the "Recycle with Vivo" program has offered customers and non-customers a wide network of collection points for the disposal of unused electronic equipment, such as cell phones, chargers, headphones, cables, batteries, and accumulators. The program has national coverage and is available in our more than 1,700 stores and resellers.
With the motto "Vivo takes care of your electronic waste, and together we take care of the environment," Recicle is a movement that mobilizes society towards conscious consumption and proper disposal of electronic waste. Starting in 2020, the project gained significant momentum with a large-scale communication campaign, including films, prime-time television commercials, insertions in soap operas, social media outreach by digital influencers, advertisements in the country's leading magazines, activations across Vivo's communication channels with customers, and the mobilization of approximately 32,000 employees in internal campaigns.
As a result, in 2021 the program broke its record for the volume of electronic waste collected. The program also integrated an awareness campaign about the reuse and proper disposal of fixed internet and TV network equipment.
Results and Objectives
In 2021:
9.2 tons of cell phones, cables, chargers, batteries, and accumulators collected and destined for recycling.
1.4 million modem and decoder units that were collected were returned to customers' homes in perfect working condition.
The program aims to collect 10 tons of electronic waste in 2022.
