ABOUT IT
The Mãos na Mata Program is an initiative to revitalize forests in areas of the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado in the state of São Paulo. It is one of the largest native tree reforestation programs in Brazil and has partners such as WeForest and SOS Mata Atlântica.
Results and Objectives
The initiative has already reforested 4,700 hectares and plans to reforest a further 1,700 hectares by 2029. Around 1 million seedlings of species native to the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado are produced every year.
