Biodiversity restoration and conservation

KLABIN S.A.

ABOUT IT

Adoption of mosaic forest management, mixing planted forests with conserved native forests (42% of the company's forest area), aimed at conserving and maintaining biodiversity. This technique allows for the formation of ecological corridors that help protect and move animals, contributing to the preservation of fauna and flora and the conservation of water resources.

Implementation of the Continuous Biodiversity Monitoring Program, an initiative that verifies the effects of forest management on the quantity, distribution and behavior of species and adopts measures to prevent and mitigate damage to biodiversity. The program is currently being carried out in Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.

The project carries external certification - FSC (FSC-C020628, FSC-C022516 and FSC-C023492) and Imaflora audit
